El Pedregal will showcase local talent this summer in a 12-week event that promises to make this north Scottsdale marketplace the coolest spot on hot summer nights. The first annual Hot Pipes Showcase for Singers, a competition for local singers by C.C. Jones Productions, begins June 13 and will be held Saturday evenings from 6 pm to 10 pm through September 12 (excluding 7/4/2009 and 9/5/2009). Admission is FREE. Food, wine and beer for purchase. NO PETS. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES ALLOWED. Each week, first place winners will receive a Hot Pipes certificate and advance to the Grand Finals Dinner & Show that will be held on September 26. Master of Ceremonies will include C.C. Jones and musical theatre producer Frank Aaron. Notable valley vocalists including Blue Lovett from the Manhattans, Dennis Rowland, George Hamilton and Nancy Gee, will judge the competition. El Pedregal has teamed up with the Foothills Food Bank and is launching a food drive begining June 13 through July 11. Non-perishable food items and monetary donations will be accepted at each showcase. Will be accepting: Non-perishable food items, toiletries and items for infants including diapers, baby food and formula. Grand Finals 1st place prize includes a 6 hour recording session at Chaton Recording Studio, a Hot Pipes Singer of the Year award, a cash prize and a donation to Foothills Food Bank made in the winner’s name equivalent to one week of food for a family in need. |

El Pedregal has teamed up with the Foothills Food Bank in conjunction with the Hot Pipes Talent Showcase this year and is launching a food drive June 13 -July 11. At each Hot Pipes event throughout the summer season, the charity will be accepting food and monetary donations at the el Pedregal management office and amphitheatre. On July 11, the food bank will be present at the Hot Pipes event to collect all donations. Will be accepting: Non-perishable food items, toiletries and items for infants including diapers, baby food and formula. The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center provides emergency supplies of food, referral information and financial assistance to individuals and families that are in a crisis situation throughout the Anthem, New River, Desert Hills, Carefree, Cave Creek, and other north valley areas. Don’t miss the first annual Hot Pipes Talent Showcase, a competition for local singing talent. Enjoy shopping, food, a cash bar, a raffle and performances by 30 local vocalists.
